Stem cell therapy
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent stromal cells that can differentiate into a variety of cell types, including osteoblasts (bone cells), chondrocytes (cartilage cells), myocytes (muscle cells) and adipocytes (fat cells which give rise to marrow adipose tissue).
MSCs are used in the fields of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. In MSC therapy the cells are extracted from the donor and grown under controlled conditions in vitro before delivered to the patient through systemic infusion.
Besides rejuvenation, MSCs have been used to treat a variety of disorders including cardiovascular diseases, spinal cord injury, bone and cartilage repair, and autoimmune diseases.
